Book Review: Waiting for Morning

Waiting the Morning
Brides of Last Chance Ranch #3
by Margaret Brownley
published by Thomas Nelson

Description:

Molly Hatfield comes to Arizona Territory seeking stability and security. But living in Cactus Patch provides her with more than she ever dreamed.
There is nothing Molly wouldn't do for her teenaged brother, Donny. Blaming herself for the accident that left him wheelchair bound, Molly has dedicated her life to his care. But in 1896, gainful employment for a woman is hard to come by. So when Molly learns that an eccentric rancher in Cactus Patch, Arizona, is looking for an heiress—someone to take over management of the ranch in exchange for future ownership—she jumps at the chance to provide a real home for her brother.
However, Molly didn't bank on meeting Dr. Caleb Fairbanks, the town’s charming unmarried doctor. Caleb has a way with Molly that makes her nervous. But it’s how he is with her brother that really alarms her. Caleb sees past the wheelchair and genuinely likes Donny, but Molly fears he’s putting unrealistic ideas into her brother’s head. Falling in love with Caleb would threaten everything she’s worked for, even her brother’s future happiness. But it could be the very reason God brought her to Last Chance Ranch.

My Review:

I already own and love the first two books in the Brides of Last Chance Ranch, so when I saw Waiting for Morning up for review, I was pretty excited to get my hands on a copy!  I admit, it took me a while to read it, but in the end, I was glad I did!

The whole plot centers mainly (really) around Molly's younger brother Donny.  Donny can't walk, can't really help himself in anyway.  When Caleb Fairbanks (Molly's love interest) meets this young boy he is challenged, believing with some work, he can change this young boy's life and give him the freedom of living by teaching him joy, and strengthening him.  When I realized the book plot centered so much around Donny, I wasn't sure if I wanted to read it...but as I got going, I really began to care about Donny, and I wanted to see him find freedom in being mobile.  Sounds weird, but I guess that proves how great this book was written. :)

The romance between Caleb and Molly was cute.  He clearly likes her right away, but she doesn't trust him and nearly knocks his block off quite a few times in a fury.  It's pretty cute, because their romance isn't so sappy and gross as some books, but still sweet and light, but deep enough to count.

Would I read it again?  Maybe...?  Though I loved it, it took me a while to push through to the end, so we shall see!  Should you read it? Yes. ;)

    1. No problemo!! I truly loved the first two books best, but this one really was great! I was impressed by Brownley's skill in getting you to care for the younger brother! Good series. :)
